Texas Defies SCOTUS, Erects More Fencing

UPDATE: In response to the Supreme Court ruling, the Texas National Guard is now erecting even more razor wire at the border.

Gov. Greg Abbott praised the National Guard’s efforts to stop the illegal alien invasion.

“The Texas National Guard continues to hold the line in Eagle Pass. Texas will not back down from our efforts to secure the border in Biden’s absence,” the governor wrote on X.

The Texas Military Dept. said they continue to hold the line in Shelby Park and are preventing illegals from stepping foot on American soil.

“We remain resolute in our actions to secure our border, preserve the rule of law, and protect the sovereignty of our State,” the agency said.

Rep. Roy Tells Texas to Disobey Ruling

Rep. Chip Roy (R-TX) said lawmakers and law enforcement should ignore the Supreme Court ruling.

“They have a duty under the Constitution … and every other norm of leadership of any sovereign state, to protect your citizens, period, full stop. There is no exception to that,” Roy told Fox News Digital on Tuesday. “And if the Supreme Court wants to ignore that truth, which a slim majority did, Texas still had the duty, Texas leaders still have the duty, to defend their people.”

Roy called it a brazen violation of the security and welfare of Texans.

“It’s like, if someone’s breaking into your house, and the court says ‘Oh, sorry. You can’t defend yourself.’ What do you tell the court?” Roy said. “You tell the court to go to hell, you defend yourself and then figure it out later.”

“Where are the men of Texas? Why aren’t they protecting their state and the nation,” wrote Tucker Carlson on X. “Everyone in power, from the White House, to the hedge fund managers, to the Supreme Court of the United States has decided to destroy the country by allowing it to be invaded. That leaves the population to defend itself.”

The Supreme Court, in a 5-4 decision, ruled that the federal government had a right to remove razor wire fence that Texas had erected to stop illegal aliens from invading the nation.

“This is not over,” Gov. Abbott wrote on X. “Texas’ razor wire is an effective deterrent to the illegal crossings Biden encourages. I will continue to defend Texas’ constitutional authority to secure the border and prevent the Biden Admin from destroying our property.”

The question is whether the federal government is in violation of Article 4, Second 4 of the U.S. Constitution. that clause requires the government to protect the states from invasion.

Lt. Chris Olivarez, a spokesman for the Texas Dept. of Public Safety, said they will maintain current posture in deterring illegal border crossings and that includes reinforced wire and anti-climb barriers.

“The logical concern should be why the Federal Government continues to hinder Texas’ ability to protect its border, all while allowing for the exploitation, dangerous, & inhumane methods of permitting illegal immigrants, including children, to illegally cross a dangerous river where many have lost their lives,” he wrote. “Texas is the only state using every strategy & resource to protect its sovereignty, combat criminal activity, & discourage illegal immigration. #Texas will continue to hold the line.”

Should Texas defy the federal government and protect the border?
