White House Gave Radio Host Questions for Biden Interview

The Independence Day radio interview on WURD in Philadelphia was supposed to convince the American people that President Biden was of sound mind. Instead, the president told host Andrea Lawful-Sanders that he was proud to be the nation’s “first black woman to serve with a black president.”

Now comes word that Lawful-Sanders was provided a pre-approved list of questions to ask the president. In other words, everything the president said was completely scripted. Click here to get conservative news without social media censorship.

The radio host told CNN host Victor Blackwell that she got a list of eight questions for the interview on Wednesday — which was meant to help convince panicked supporters after the presidents disastrous debate performance.

“The questions were sent to me for approval; I approved of them,” she told Victor Blackwell, the host of “First of All” on CNN. Asked if it was the White House that sent the questions to her in advance, she said it was.

Biden also sat for an interview on “The Earl Ingram Show” in Milwaukee. That interview was described by The New York Times as “halting” and the president gave “sometimes confusing answers.”

“The reason I ask is not a criticism of either of you,” Blackwell told the two anchors. “It’s just that if the White House is trying now to prove the vim, vigor, acuity of the president, I don’t know how they do that by sending questions first, before the interviews, so that the president knows what’s coming.”

Biden campaign spokesperson Lauren Hitt defended the decision to plant questions.

“It’s not at all an uncommon practice for interviewees to share topics they would prefer,’ she said in a statement. “These questions were relevant to news of the day – the president was asked about this debate performance as well as what he’d delivered for black Americans.”

Hitt said the campaign does not “condition interviews on acceptance of these questions, and hosts are always free to ask the questions they think will best inform their listeners.”

I find her explanation somewhat dubious.

I’ve interviewed President Trump almost a dozen times over the years. I sat in his office at Mar-a-Lago and interviewed him for 90 minutes. Not once did President Trump or his staff ever send pre-prepared questions. Not once did they tell me a topic was off-limits.
