DEVELOPING STORY: Sen. Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) led a group of senators as they literally chased down the director of the Secret Service at the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee. Watch the entire video above and click here to get my daily conservative alerts from DC.
“You owe the people answers,” Blackburn shouted as she confronted Director Cheatle. “You owe President Trump answers.”
A number of senators initially confronted her and then chased her down a hallway demanding that she answer questions she had refused to answer during an earlier private meeting with lawmakers.
“She would not answer our questions. She wanted to say it was not the time or place,” Blackburn said. “She can run but she cannot hide because the American people want to know how the assassination attempt was carried out on President Donald Trump.”
Immediately after the earlier meeting Blackburn called for Cheatle to resign.
“I just got off a briefing with the Secret Service and FBI. I am appalled to learn that the Secret Service knew about a threat prior to President Trump walking on stage. I have no confidence in the leadership of Director Cheatle and believe it is in the best interest of our nation if she steps down from her position,” she wrote on X.
