A Missouri girl, 7, reacted with excitement when she found out she got gifts from former President Donald Trump and former first lady Melania Trump.
Avalinn Rackley, who was severely injured and lost her sister in a recent tornado, got two packages from the Trumps for Christmas.
“These boxes came in the mail and they are from President Trump,” Pam Moore, Avalinn’s grandmother, said in a video she posted on Facebook.
“Oh my God!” Avalinn said as she leaned against her father with excitement on her face.
The Trumps gave them signed hats and books, presidential blankets, American Girl dolls, pens, bracelets, and more, according to Moore’s post.
And Donald and Melania Trump sent a letter:
We are so encouraged by the strength and determination you have shown during this very difficult time. You will remain in our hearts for complete care and comfort as you continue to recover,” the letter read. “With your steadfast spirit, and the unwavering strength and support of your wonderful family and many friends, your future potential is limitless. May God bless you and your family.”
The Rackley’s Caruthers home was destroyed by a tornado that killed Avalinn’s 9-year-old sister Annistyn, and injured her mom, Meghan, father, and younger sister, Alanna, 3.
Avalinn broke vertebrae when she was sucked into the tornado. Now she wears a neck brace and is learning to walk again.
“I was flying around in the tornado, and I prayed to Jesus to take care of me, and he spit me out — and the tornado spit me out into the mud,” Avalinn told RedState.
