There is a TON of lightning occurring near Ione, California. My girlfriend is sending me these videos from down there. Crazy! #CAwx #AtmosphericRiver #BombCyclone #wxtwitter pic.twitter.com/Y5ewUI4N9B— Michael Steinberg (@MichaelWX18) January 5, 2023
I come from the east coast, I’ve survived Sandy, I’ve lived in NOLA, but this is the first time I am legitimately scared of a storm. So many houseless people in the Bay Area, so many homes on hills. Seriously hope everyone stayed safe #NorthernCalifornia #BombCyclone pic.twitter.com/YD3J6oEpM9— Suzee (@shesanempath) January 4, 2023
Why is this #BombCyclone a big deal? It’s not “a bit of rain”.— BAY AREA STATE OF MIND (@YayAreaNews) January 5, 2023
• 50-70 mph wind gusts in valleys, up to 90 mph in mountains.
• 4-8 inches of rain, locally 10+ on the North Coast
• Ground already saturated – high flood and power outage risk
• Terrain means mudslide risk #CAwx pic.twitter.com/9XPUWK4KeS
