DEVELOPING STORY: Panama City Beach sustained major damage after a water spout came ashore and turned into a tornado. Video, which you can watch below, shows houses and businesses destroyed and heavy damage throughout the popular tourist destination. There are reports of injuries and at least one fatality.
In Marianna, which is inland from Panama City Beach about 70 miles, neighborhoods were flattened.
“More images and stories coming out of the panhandle of Florida. A couple whose clothes were ripped off of them was pulled out from this car just 45 minutes ago. Prayers to everyone in Panama City and Marianna, Florida. Lord Have Mercy!” tweeted @jeffreyscott88.
The Florida Caverns RV Park was decimated by the storm. Search and rescue operations are underway at this hour.
