DEVELOPING STORY: Much of the Mid-South is bracing for tornadoes and severe weather tonight. Unconfirmed tornadoes have already been reported around St. Louis. However, the National Weather Service says there have not been any touchdowns. Soccer fans were told to evacuate a stadium and power is out to tens of thousands in the St. Louis area. According to the National Weather Service, most of the hail that has fallen thus far has been between penny- and half-dollar-sized. However, there have been several reports of golf-ball-sized and baseball-sized hail. There has also been a report of grapefruit-sized hail near Arcola, Missouri.

Paige Graves, of Missouri, reported that her car was heavily damaged by large chunks of hail.
“We’ve never had damage like this before here,” Graves said.
A number of buildings have reportedly been damaged by wind in Missouri. There are reports of wind gusts as high as 97 mph.
