The US State Department announces it is raising its Travel Advisory for Lebanon to Level 4 – Do Not Travel, and is approving Authorized Departure for some State employees & their families at the embassy in Beirut due to the “unpredictable security situation” in Lebanon. Authorized departure allows the option for some to leave on a case by case basis, but is not “ordered departure”, when leaving is required.
