The freedom-loving citizens of Los Angeles are getting a stark lesson on what happens when you elect-power hungry Democrats to office: you get fascism-lite.
Mayor Eric Garcetti announced that nonessential businesses that refuse to shut down will face severe consequences.
KTLA reports the mayor has launched a “business ambassadors program.” The “ambassadors” are supposed to put pressure on nonessential business to shutter their stores.
“This behavior is irresponsible and selfish,” he said of those that remain open.
KTLA reports the Department of Water and Power will shut off services for the businesses that don’t comply with the “safer at home” ordinance.
“You know who you are, you need to stop it,” the mayor said. “This is your chance to step up and to shut it down, because if you don’t, we will shut you down.”
According to LAIST.com, the “ambassadors” along with deputized city workers will visit nonessential businesses and demand “voluntary compliance.”
Should a business refuse to voluntarily comply, the “ambassadors” will alert the Los Angeles Police Department.
The mayor warned that businesses who refuse to cooperate will ultimately face misdemeanor charges and if need be their power and water will be shut off.
