Hello American, I’m Todd Starnes. Stand by for news and commentary next.
Churches across the nation are under attack – and you need to be prepared.
In Bethesda, Maryland three church houses were targeted by vandals and arsonists. A Catholic Church, a Baptist church and a Methodist church were targeted.
“We are saddened by these destructive acts, and we feel tinges of the heartache and fear that arise in communities of all types when a sacred space is desecrated,” the Rev. Kara Scroggins wrote in an email to The Washington Post. “We cannot know the hurt of the person or people who vandalized churches in our neighborhood, and so we lift their hurt and our own hurt up to God.”
The arsonists set fire to St. Jane Frances de Chantal Catholic Church and North Bethesda United Methodist Church. Wildwood Baptist Church was vandalized and its graveyard was desecrated.
“People are coming in today shocked,” said Patricia Zapor, a spokesperson for the Archdiocese of Washington . “There were some small attempts to burn some of the pews. Some books were shredded, and the stations of the cross were removed from the wall.”
Much of the vandalism was the result of pro-abortion terrorists.
Homeland Security warned that people angry over the Supreme Court’s decision to overturn Roe v Wade would cause problems.
And unfortunately, that has turned out to be the case.
What’s interesting is the lack of national media coverage. There hasn’t been any.
When a black church or a progressive church is attacked it becomes a national news story — as well it should. It’s a heinous and unforgivable crime.
But the media should apply the same standard when a pro-life Catholic church or Baptist church or Pentecostal church is attacked.
All Churches Matter.
