‘Don Has the Day Off’: Lemon Absent from CNN After On-Air Sexism

CNN host Don Lemon was not on the morning show Friday, a day after backlash for a “sexist” comment against GOP presidential candidate Nikki Haley.

The network faces calls to fire Lemon, who was already moved from his prime-time slot, for saying women like Haley who are over 40 are “past their prime.”

Should CNN fire Don Lemon?

“Don has the day off,” his co-host Kaitlan Collins said at the start of “CNN This Morning.”

Lemon, who was replaced by Audie Cornish, allegedly joined a call Friday morning to reiterate his apology, telling his co-workers his words “came out wrong,” according to the Daily Mail.

CNN employees told the outlet Lemon is “rude, self-righteous and clearly sexist.”

They added that “his apology meant nothing.”

While Lemon took Friday off, Haley responded on Fox News:

A ToddStarnes.com poll found that 95 percent of respondents want CNN to fire Lemon.
