Rep. Ronny Jackson (R-TX) blasted the Pentagon’s recent decision to yank a licensing agreement with a family-owned company that was making dog tags adorned with Bible verses. First Liberty Institute filed a federal lawsuit on behalf of Shields of Faith. Read our story in the lawsuit here. Following is a partial transcript of Todd’s interview with the congressman on today’s Todd Starnes Radio Show. Click here to listen to the full interview.
TODD: [01:02:41] Congressman, I know you serve on Armed Services Committee. We just a few moments ago had our friend Mike Berry from First Liberty Institute on. They have filed a federal lawsuit. The Defense Department has now yanked the license agreements for a company that produces dog tags that have Bible verses on them, and they say that’s unconstitutional. They’ve been doing this for 20 plus years, and now all of a sudden it’s a problem, and I wanted to get your reaction to that as as a member of the Armed Services Committee.
REP. JACKSON: [01:03:11] Well, I think it’s I think it’s disturbing. I think it just pisses me off to no end, to be honest with you. This is the reason that Afghanistan was a disaster when we pulled out of there. This is the reason that Russia is about to go into it, take the Ukraine, that China is about to take Taiwan, that Iran is about to get a nuclear weapon because all they care about, all they care about me, about administration is their social agenda. And they legitimately say the United States military as their big social experiment. They can do all kinds of stuff. And we sit in these committees in the armed services, some of the Armed Services Committee, we have subcommittee hearing. We sit there all day and instead of talking about the threat to our country and what’s in our national security interests, all they want to talk about is gender nomenclature. Transgender issues, you know, white supremacy, extremism in the military and things like this, that this all they that’s all they want to talk about, they need to get, they need it. We need to start having discussions about what’s going on in this country and the threats that are better on our doorstep right now.
