Elisjsha Dicken is an honest-to-goodness hero.
He’s the 22-year-old Good Samaritan who shot and killed a gunman who had opened fire inside the food court of a shopping mall in Greenwood, Indiana.
The mayor, the police chief and even Congressman Jim Banks honored the young man — saying without a doubt that he stopped the gunman from committing a massacre.
But Justin Kollar is no fan. He’s the traffic reporter at the CBS affiliate in Indianapolis.
Mr. Kollar stirred up a stink on social media — blasting people for calling Mr. Dicken a Good Samaritan.

“The term, ‘Good Samaritan’ came from a Bible passage of a man from Samaria who stopped on the side of the road to help a man who was injured and ignored. I cannot believe we live in a world where the term can equally apply to someone *killing* someone… my God,” he wrote on Twitter.
It sounds as if the traffic reporter would’ve preferred for Mr. Dicken to stand down while the gunman massacred innocent people. Because that’s exactly what would have happened had he not intervened.

Mr. Kollar later qualified his inflammatory statement by saying he was not a theologian.
“Let me be clear, my thoughts are not meant to discredit the heroic, life saving action an individual took in stopping the shooter. While I’m no biblical scholar I believe the Christ coined term, G S, misses the mark in this context, especially after Christ’s action in Luke 22:49,” he wrote.
The Bible is filled with stories about armies of angels rushing to protect God’s people. In Greenwood, Indiana, God’s angel was armed with a handgun.
Maybe the traffic reporter should just stay in his lane.
