President Biden announced Wednesday he will use taxpayer money to pay off some $300 billion in student loans.
“In keeping with my campaign promise, my Administration is announcing a plan to give working and middle class families breathing room as they prepare to resume federal student loan payments in January 2023,” Biden tweeted.
The Biden administration plans to cancel $10,000 of federal student loan debt for certain borrowers making less than $125,000 per year, and up to $20,000 for Pell Grant recipients. Roughly 43 million will be eligible. The student loan pause will also be extended through the end of the year.

I’ll have more details this afternoon. pic.twitter.com/kuZNqoMe4I
What’s next? Will taxpayers have to forgive housing loans? What about car loans? Where do you draw the line?
This is nothing more than a political ploy to bribe millennials into voting for Democrats in the mid-term elections. There’s just one problem with their plan — the millennials aren’t even responsible enough to pay their bills — much less stand in line to vote on Election Day
Biden’s executive order is a bad idea.
What sort of message is this going to send to deadbeat college graduates who refuse to pay their bills?
And what sort of message does this send to all the college grads who played by the rules and repaid their student loans?
What sort of message is Biden sending to deadbeat college graduates who won’t pay their bills? If you can’t repay your student loans with your degree in lesbian feminist theory, maybe you should work the drive-thru at McDonalds.— toddstarnes (@toddstarnes) August 24, 2022
Some may argue that many college grads just can’t afford to meet their obligations.
Well, if you can’t earn a living with your degree in Lesbian Feminist Theory, maybe you should take a second job working the drive-thru at Chick-fil-A.
