Rep. Kevin McCarthy (R-CA), who had previously lost five rounds of votes, lost the sixth round Wednesday. A seventh round for speaker is expected.
Does McCarthy need to pull out of the Speaker race?
Rep. Kat Cammack (R-FL) was heckled by Democrats while she nominated McCarthy after she accused them of lacking sportsmanship and bringing popcorn and alcohol to the Hill.
“Are we the party of Reagan?” she rhetorically asked Republicans as the Democrats called out, “No.”
Rep. Byron Donalds (R-FL) received 20 votes from Republicans once again.
In the previous round, Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-CO) called on former President Trump to call McCarthy and tell him he doesn’t have the votes and should withdraw from the speaker’s race.
