NBC News has suspended Los Angeles-based national correspondent Miguel Almaguer after his report on Paul Pelosi’s assault was wiped from the website, the Daily Beast reports.
The outlet said the award-winning reporter “has been suspended pending an internal investigation” by NBC News.

In the now-deleted clip, Almaguer told “Today” sources familiar with the incident said House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s (D-CA) husband opened the door for cops and “did not immediately declare an emergency or try to leave his home, but instead began walking several feet back into the foyer toward the assailant and away from police.”
Almaguer added, “Why Pelosi didn’t try to flee or tell responding officers he was in distress is unclear. We still don’t know exactly what unfolded between Mr. Pelosi and the suspect for the 30 minutes they were alone inside that house before police arrived. Officials who were investigating this matter would not go into further details about these new details.”

The network pulled the video without any further explanation than a simple statement.
“We apologize, this video has expired,” NBC wrote on the original clip, along with an editor’s note, “The piece should not have aired because it did not meet NBC News reporting standards.”

National radio host Todd Starnes reacted to NBC wiping the video.
“NBC News removes video alleging jaw-dropping new details about Pelosi attack because it ‘did not meet our standards,’” Starnes tweeted.
