House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) is now prohibited from receiving Communion due to the “grave evil” of her pro-abortion advocacy, San Francisco Archbishop Salvatore Cordileone announced Friday.
Cordieleone told the American Magazine he tried to help Pelosi “understand the grave evil she is perpetrating, the scandal she is causing, and the danger to her own soul she is risking.”
The archbishop wrote to Pelosi, a lifelong Catholic, in private and made the announcement public so priests would not give her the Eucharist until she changes her stance on abortion.
“A Catholic legislator who supports procured abortion, after knowing the teaching of the Church, commits a manifestly grave sin which is a cause of most serious scandal to others. Therefore, universal Church law provides that such persons ‘are not to be admitted to Holy Communion,'” he says in the letter.

The archbishop said his decision was “pastoral” and not “political.”

Biden, also a “devout Catholic,” has also been threatened with being barred from communion.
