A teaching assistant at the University of Georgia allegedly called on people to declare war on white voters.
“So, Georgia, are we finished with the illusion that White Georgians don’t vote to protect the perks of White Supremacy?” Irami Osei-Frimpong wrote on his Facebook page. “Democrats need to go to war on the White electorate.”
Osei-Frimpong is a teaching assistant in the University of Georgia’s Philosophy department, Campus Reform reports.
“We can talk about voter suppression. We can talk about ID laws,” he wrote. “But all of this begins and ends with the fact that we make crappy White people.”
“So if we are serious, we have to dismantle the institutions that make crappy white people,” he continued. “Their churches, their schools, their families.”
The university did not respond to inquiries about the teaching assistant and whether they endorse his rantings. I also invited Osei-Frimpong to be a guest on my radio show Monday. He has yet to respond.
We know White men are a problem, and their racism is tied to both their Whiteness and their masculinity. We can’t account for how White women are a problem because we are scared to indict them on gendered grounds. The way womanhood is conceived in America reproduces racism. pic.twitter.com/Aq4coUvmgR
