Former Vice President Joe Biden lashed out at Republicans – telling MSNBC host Al Sharpton the GOP wants to suppress the black vote.
“These Republicans don’t want working-class people voting. They don’t want black folks voting,” Biden said on MSNBC’s “PoliticsNation.”
The former vice president’s comments are not only disgraceful, they are also incorrect.
Just ask HUD Secretary Ben Carson and South Carolina Sen. Tim Scott and Congresswoman Mia Love.
There are some politicos who believe President Trump won the 2016 presidential election because he intentionally campaigned for the black vote and the working-class vote.
Consider this headline from Washington Post: “Mostly black neighborhoods voted more Republican in 2016 than in 2012.”
Two of the president’s most vocal supporters are Lynnette Hardaway and Rochelle Richardson, African-American sisters –known as Diamond and Silk.
“Trump is not a racist, he is a realist,” Diamond during a past appearance on Fox & Friends. “And the only color he sees is green and he wants you to have some of it.”
It’s unfortunate that Biden has chosen to align himself with the race-baiting rhetoric of agitators like Al Sharpton. The former vice president is either woefully ignorant of the facts or he’s intentionally lying.
Either way – to borrow a word from Hillary Clinton – it’s deplorable.
