Phil Robertson Says Trump is pro-Life, pro-God, pro-Jesus, pro-Hunting

Phil Robertson, the Duck Commander founder, told the “Todd Starnes Show” on Thursday that he believes factions in the U.S. are widening the divide and are playing a major role in the country’s current climate.

“We’ve got a country that’s full of factions,” he said. “In the Bible, factions, they’re sinful. Factions cause dissension and dissension causes discord and discord produces strife and strife…it bring on anarchy,” he said.

Robertson, who recently wrote a book titled, “Jesus Politics: How to Win Back the Soul of America,” said his purpose in writing the book was to examine, “Whatever happened to loving God and loving each other for crying out loud?”

Robertson pointed to the trend in the country for the past few decades that shuns faith and belief in God. He said the country has produced generations of Americans who—unless they are exposed to faith at their home—spend their formative years without knowing God and the teachings in the Bible to love your fellow man.

“It’s a sad thing to watch,” he said.

He even pointed to Gov. Gavin Newsom, the Democrat from California, who clamped down on religious services through much of the state and banned at-home Bible study.

“I’m like, ‘Dude, what?’ You could riot, loot, burn, jump up and down, spit and holler and shout, but you can’t sing inside a church building,” Robertson said.

Todd Starnes, the radio show’s host, recalled “Duck Dynasty,” the reality show that portrayed a day in the life of the Robertson family, and said one of its appeals was the family’s traditional values.

Robertson said the 2020 election is going to be an indicator of the heart of the country. He said he recently met with President Trump three times and each of those encounters focused on the Bible.

“He listened intently,” Roberton said. He said that Trump is a brilliant man and every time that they meet, the conversation turns to spirituality.

“At least the guy is pro-life, pro-God, pro-Jesus, pro-hunting,” Robertson said. “He’s good enough for me, my man.”
