It’s appalling.
That’s what Rep. Doug Collins (R-Georgia) thinks about recent comments spewing from the mouth of Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-New York) said in a video posted online that the U.S. is running concentration camps against the southern border.
“They are concentration camps,” said the socialist from Queens. “The fact that concentration camps are now an institutionalized practice in the home of the free is extraordinarily disturbing and we need to do something about it.”
AOC went on to evoke memories of the Holocaust by using the phrase ‘never again.’
“I have seen the facilities,” Collins told The Todd Starnes Show. “I’ve seen the work that they’re doing, and they’re treating everybody with respect.” Listen to the full, blockbuster interview on the Todd Starnes Show Podcast.
Collins went on to say that “the Democratic Party has become the party of anti-Semitism” because they won’t do anything about lawmakers like AOC.
“They just overlook it,” added Collins. “But to compare our facilities which are being run as best as possible and vote against money for humanitarian aid when we offered it on the floor a few weeks ago, it just shows either a blissful ignorance of the world and history, or it just shows a concerted effort of anti-Semitism and an ignorance of what we do as a country.”
“Yeah, either way you cut that cake, Congressman, it’s not pretty,” said Starnes. “I mean they’ve got some serious problems on the other side of the aisle.”
Collins agreed.
“They don’t want solve immigration,” the Republican legislator said about Democrats. “They don’t care about these kids and families coming across the border. They want them as political pawns. Hopefully somebody is going to wake up and realize that this faux compassion that they’re showing to the folks on the borders is really not there and they’ve offered nothing to fix our crisis on the border.”
“Congressman, there were grown adults that put their children in in these situations by you know again coming across the border illegally, many of them traveling thousands of miles and putting their kids in dangerous situations every step along the way,” said Starnes. “No one’s talking about that because I guess that’s politically incorrect to say.”
