TODD: [01:21:39] You know, Congressman, there are there are people who are just they’re heartsick over what’s been happening in Afghanistan and specifically how President Biden has brought shame upon our nation.
REP. LOUDERMILK: [01:21:55] It’s not only shame, he’s turning his back on American citizens. I mean, my heart is going out. I’m sick at my stomach over this. My office and I for over a week now have been inundated with trying to help people get out of that country, both American citizens and especially a lot of Christians that are trying to flee that had helped our our forces and those with SIV visas. And Todd, you know, yesterday we found out that one of those people we were trying to help, the Taliban, went to their home, pulled them out and shot them. Killed them right as we were trying to help get them out. But yet the president of the United States to make a political point so that he can say on the anniversary of 9/11 that we’re no longer in Afghanistan is turning his back on American citizens and those who risked their lives to help us. It absolutely is making me sick to my stomach. And besides that, we have members of the armed forces. We have Marines and 82nd Airborne. These folks have dedicated their lives to preserving liberty and helping free those that are oppressed. They have a mantra which is we will not leave anyone behind, but yet their commander in chief is telling them to turn their back on their sworn duty and leave their fellow citizens in harm’s way. This is going to have long lasting effect on these guys. I served in the military, and I can tell you, this is this is not sitting well with them.

TODD: [01:23:31] Well, I’m glad to hear that. And I suspected that that was the case. I want to go back if it’s just OK and get some more details on this individual that you say you say was shot. What can you tell us about this individual?
REP. LOUDERMILK: [01:23:44] Well, we don’t want to say too much because then that could identify for the Taliban and other people, because what what we’re doing is working with different organizations, as well as trying to work through the Department of State, which is like pulling teeth and pulling your hair at the same time. But we’re trying to let the Department of State know where these people are. They are not where they are, but get their names on the list. So if we can get them to the airport, that they could get through the gate. The meantime, we’ve got others that are trying to get people to safe houses in different places and at some point. And from what I’m understanding, those information is still sketchy, that the Taliban is going door to door and they’re marking the houses of those that they believe help the Americans and those that have converted to Christianity. And once they mark the house, then their hit squads are going in, taking them and killing them. And so it was just so disheartening for our office that, you know, one of the folks that we were working with, which was a group of some others that happened to as we’re trying to help them, it’s unbelievable what’s happening.
