Todd Starnes, the nationally-syndicated radio host, reassured his listeners that the United States is not at war with Iran.
“There’s been no declaration of war,” Starnes said on his radio show. “The only people talking about war are liberals, leftists, and the libertarians.”

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi says the Democrat-led House will vote on a resolution limiting President Trump’s military actions toward Iran.
Rep. Chip Roy (R-TX) told Starnes that Speaker Pelosi is choosing politics over policy in trying to figure out what’s best for our country.
“The president took the authority that he had, that Congress gave the last three administrations to deal with ISIS and al-Qaida in the wake of 9/11, as well as deal with Iraq and took out this evil man, Soleimani, who is responsible for the deaths of hundreds of men and women in uniform,” Roy told Starnes. “Intelligence indicates he was planning future attacks, so the president did what I think was best.”
Still, candidates for the Democratic Party’s presidential nomination have condemned the attack that killed Soleimani. Senator Bernie Sanders (I-VT) believes it put the U.S. on the path to another war.
“We saw a little bit of this President Trump did the order to kill Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, also a leading terrorist in the world,” RNC spokesperson Liz Harrington told Starnes. “We saw the Democrats and the media were not really sure how to react because, if it’s good for the country, but it also happens to be good for President Trump, they lose their minds.”
Harrington went on to say the American people see through it.
“They know we’re now safer today,” explained Harrington. “Soleimani should have been killed long ago, but President Trump, he takes leadership, he takes action, and he does what’s necessary to keep Americans safe.”
