Memphis Police Thwart Mass Shooting at FedEx Forum

DEVELOPING STORY: Memphis police arrested a man who planned to “kill as many people as possible” early Saturday morning outside FedEx Forum.

Police arrested a 28-year-old man early Saturday morning and discovered a cache of weapons inside his apartment. Officers had assistance from ATF agents.

Elijah Hyman is accused of threatening to “kill himself and everyone he saw coming from an event being held at the FedEx Forum,” according to a police department statement.

Police did not name the entertainers who were performing but last night the Forum hosted a concert by Yo Gotti.

Authorities reportedly found a number of rifles and thousands of rounds of ammo in the man’s apartment, which is located near the arena. Click here for more coverage from KWAM NewsTalk Memphis.
