What would happen if the advancing army of migrants decides to breach the border of a sanctuary state like California? It could create a standoff between President Trump and Gov. Jerry Brown.
“The president would have every right – even with the governor’s objection — to put people on our United States border with Mexico in California,” Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-TX) said on the Todd Starnes Radio Show. “The federal government is in charge of things like enforcing our border regardless of what Jerry Brown feels. This is important for the entire country.”
Gohmert said there’s no way that California can become a gateway for the invading horde of migrants.
“This is really dangerous,” he said. ‘There is no way everybody in that caravan is loving, caring people. You’ve got some people coming in to do damage to the United States.”
And that could mean taking some extreme measures to protect the nation – especially if California Democrats embrace more illegals.
“You might have to declare martial law along the border,” Gohmert said on the nationally-syndicated radio show. “Hopefully, it won’t come to that. Hopefully, Jerry Brown won’t force the issue.”
“I hope and pray (Brown) won’t be so stupid as to try to stop the United States government from enforcing our border,” he said.
